I have to say I can't understand why any of the opening ceremony was cut

since it wasn't aired live why not just stop the tape, play commercials or interview or vapid crap, start tape again, play commercials etc, start tape again, and repeat as necessary. How hard can that be?

EXTREMELY difficult since they didn't do it. I got tired of the stupid endless commercials and found something else to watch.

No reason to cut anything out to accommodate commercials, since it wasn't aired live anyway.
