Tammy Duckworth on trying to save a combat vet from deportation

?s=21

.@DHSgov @SecNielsen: you have the power to prevent @USArmy Veteran Miguel Perez from being deported TODAY. I urge you to personally review his case before forcing his deportation through without giving him time to even say goodbye to his loved ones

This should make all Americans scream about this injustice. Pharaoh even hates his army.

Fuck trump.

I have encouraged my son not to ever join because this military and this republican government break their promises to veterans and their familes.

We lose a vet to suicide every 63 mins in this country and virtually nothing is being done to change that. Trump boasts about the military and spending on the military but what is being done to actually support the individuals, virtually nothing. All that defense spending benefits the corporations that are war mongers and very little trickles down to the average soldier, sailor, marine, or airman!

It won't be though. We veterans aren't stupid. Sure we are honored with Veterans Day parades and restaurant discounts, and we get trotted out by politicians, but at the end of the day are we really honored? I mean are vets really given the benefits that they deserve? We have one vet suicide every 63 mins in this country and our "SCpOTUS" wants to throw a fucking parade!! And here we have another case of a young man who signed up and put his life on the line for his country and what do we do to honor that? We slam the door in his face and say thanks but no thanks...we might as well be saying "your kind ain't welcome here". Trump is doing his best to irreparably dismantle the very fabric of what our country used to stand for.

this, to me, is the very worst type:

Hey, come kill and risk being killed for the good ole U.S. and we'll give you citizenship.

Maybe.

Sometimes I wonder just how deep my rage can go. I get surprised by the growth about daily.

Especially to people who put their lives on the line for us. This is so anti American, I can’t even understand it. All we can do is resist and bear witness.
Peace
