The NRA Is Attacking The Teen Organizers Of March For Our LivesBy Taylor Dolven Mar 23, 2018
The National Rifle Association (NRA) is pulling out all the stops ahead of whats estimated to be one of the largest marches of all time on Saturday, when one million people plan to descend on the nations capital to demand stricter gun control measures.
NRA TV has been flooding its social media channels with videos criticizing the protesters under the hashtag #MarchForOurLives, the name student survivors of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, chose for the demonstration. Students leading the march want legislators to raise the federal age to buy a gun to 21, close background check loopholes for gun show and online gun sales, and ban assault weapons.
"If youre too immature to carry a firearm, youre too immature to make policy about firearms, said NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch in a video posted to Twitter on Thursday evening.

(82,849 posts)Smart enough to ignore the heckling from the Peanut Gallery. The moral Lilliputians from the NRA don't scare teen-agers who've survived a gun massacre. It takes a special brand of dumbass to try.

(13,081 posts)They wouldnt be so adamant about needing a gun for self-defense. These teenagers have them scared shitless. It doesnt surprise me.

(28,270 posts)They use hate, fear and racism to do it.
That's why every NRA 'solution' to the latest mass shooting always revolves around selling more guns to more people.
TwistOneUp
(1,020 posts)They are not about rifles. They are about sales of firearms, and thus they represent the manufacturers.
They should be called the NFMA, the National Firearms Manufacturing Association.

(32,645 posts)I know you've seen this before, my friend. I post this on DU whenever I get a chance so I apologize for the duplication. The notion that Americans are "entitled to own guns" based on the 2nd Amendment - that's all a fraud.
It needs to be challenged and struck down by the Supreme Court, and I believe that day will come. That's what we're marching for now. Enough is enough!
Personally I don't think Putin cares one way or the other about American firearms. Putin takes advantage of the NRA's secret backdoor PAC that allows them to hide the Russian money and distribute it secretly to the Republican Party. So yes the NRA is tainted with Russian money as a means to skirt our campaign contribution laws and corrupt our political process.
The NRA has shown that it doesn't deserve to exist, and its leaders should all be thrown in jail.

(17,984 posts)I think she's talking about the HS kids being young, but her use of the word "immature" is the problem. It's the gun humpers who are the immature ones, hanging onto their guns like pacifiers.

(11,802 posts)All it's doing is hardening hearts against you and hastening your demise. And when strict gun laws are enacted? Your followers can blame you for it. You could have gotten on board long ago for common sense gun laws, but you chose no quarter. Now, overkill is where this will go. The companies that you lobby for will make far less money, your members will be strictly regulated. Look in the mirror. No one to blame but you.

(54,403 posts)I guess the NRA isn't aware of that concept.
The notion of being able to make your point without carrying a deadly weapon obviously hasn't yet occurred to them. Won't they be surprised when they find out!

I quit listening to CSPAN Washington Journal years ago. I was just tuning into CSPAN online in order to stream the March For Our Lives.

(10,893 posts)been surprised if the NRA had remained silent and not attack them. They're in the business of selling firearms and these demonstrations might threaten their bottom line long-term, so of course they're doing this.
