The pro-gun control March For Our Lives is not just taking place in Washington today. Roughly 800 rallies are taking place across the country this weekend, and in the one at New York City, CNN caught up with a very famous marcher Paul McCartney.
When asked by CNNs Jason Carroll why he was rallying today, the former Beattle invoked his former bandmate and songwriting partner John Lennon, who was shot to death in New York City in 1980.
Telling Carroll that he hopes to end gun violence, McCartney said the following when asked if he thought that could happen on a legislative level:
Im like everyone, I dont know. But this is what we can do, and so Im here to do it. One of my best friends was killed by gun violence right around here, so its important to me not just to march today but to take action tomorrow and to have these people to have their voices heard.
