Sometimes DU is so Debbie Downer

If Trump and all the reps resigned there would be folks lamenting about something. "But now the Pedophilia Party will get traction! Oh, the humanity! "
Progress is not steady but it is inexorable. Look at the big picture. Much has been won in the past 50 years. Chin up and trudge onward. The future is ours.

I’m not kidding. Goofy optimism sometimes pays off. Miserable pessimism never does.

speak of regarding the progress made in the past 50 years is in very real danger of being undone.

2016 was not just a small "setback", it was the perfect storm. A SC justice that by all standards should have been afforded President Obama, was denied in the first of many outrages to follow.

While some may be depressed by everything that has transpired to inaction, I would argue that many more instead are being spurred into action. This has been evidenced by the special elections that have taken place throughout the country.

Yesterday's events sent a very clear message, and that message will be reflected in the voting booths

and be happy-go-lucky that the midterms are going to be an easy win for the Dems. Anything can happen, especially at the last minute. Look at the last 10 days of the 2016 election with Comey. We thought it was "in the bag" for Hillary after the sex scandal/pussy tape. I do not rely on polls and I do rely on history and the fucking moron and his rich pals play dirty. We must stay angry (not necessarily Debbie Downers but more seasoned and wise Reality Ritas). We will have to maintain anger since that is what energizes change...look at yesterday's marches as an example.

I am not an optimist or a pessimist...I am a realist and I have the same political outlook as the Cambridge Analytica whistle blower Wylie who said when asked if he has no trust in anyone now. He said, "I have a healthy dose of skepticism and that is how I go through life". Me too...my parents taught me that.

Pessimism--oh what's the point?--doesn't inspire action.

Look at how inspiring the Parkland students are. If they change the world, it's because they believe it's possible.
