Eric Holder says he'll decide on a 2020 run by early next year

Former Attorney General Eric Holder will decide on whether to run for president in 2020 by early next year, he said in an interview Thursday.

Holder, who served as attorney general from 2009 to 2015 under President Obama, told the hosts of Viceland's "Desus & Mero" that he would be exploring the possibility of a run throughout the rest of the year.

"I don't know. We'll see. I haven't decided yet," Holder said when asked about his plans for a possible challenge to President Trump.

"What I've said is, I'm going to decide by the beginning of next year and see if there is going to be another chapter in my public service career."

Holder, the nation's first African-American attorney general, is currently aiming to break Republican strongholds on congressional district maps and state governments across the country as the chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee.

The policy started under W and Holder was held in contempt because he was hated by a far right wing congress, just like they hated his boss. F and F was mostly the product of the Hannity-Limbaugh fever swamp, blown way out of proportion. The only people I ever hear bring it up are deplorables.

7. I really love the work he's doing to stop vote disenfranchisement

I think he should continue to do that, honestly. For 2020, I'm excited to hear more from Corey Booker, Deval Patrick, Martin O'Malley, Kamalah Harris, and Bill DeBlasio. My dream candidate would be Michelle Obama, but she has insisted that she's not interested. Biden, Sanders, and Warren--lovely people, but too old.

8. I REALLY like him, but wish he had more governing experience. At least some!

He had great experience, but I'd like to get back to the days of governors and senators, preferably a bit of both.

If he surrounds himself with really smart, good people then he'd be good.
