Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThe NRA, and their cronies, cannot counter the Parkland students' arguments so they attack the
students, and yet, our so-called, cherished media does not call the Right Wing out for doing so. Does not slam them. Brings them on talk shows and treats them like they have a legitimate point of view or argument when all they are doing is attacking victims/survivors of mass shootings.
This is the one of the primary reasons why we cannot have common sense gun regulation in this country because the media allows the right wing to bully victims into silence.

I do not see the victims being bullied into silence. Quite the contrary.

(89,264 posts)they take any lies that the right wing spews out and think it needs to be debated with equal time on both sides. when they should just be reporting that it's a lie. they are reporters. report the fucking fact. not everything needs to be debated with each side having a say.

(35,445 posts)Hogg, and the other students, called out how pols like Marco Rubio for taking contributions from the NRA, and that's a verifiable fact. Also, it's not a personal attack on Rubio himself. Whereas the counter is to call Hogg a liar or mock him for not getting into a college. Those are either lies or irrelevant.
Yes, the kids are brave and inspirational, but where is the media? Why aren't they stopping the personal attacks on the kids? Why aren't they calling out their colleagues for this?

(8,071 posts)I saw Lawrence on MSNBC specifically bringing up the whole Laura Ingraham situation head on. I would NEVER expect Faux New to call out one of their own (even though Shepard Smith HAS done so)....
