Isn't that odd how the Republicans claim to be ultra-religious, but their corporate capitalist objectives lead to the odd observation that our US Postal deliveries are working on Easter Sunday, and the local delivery truck took twenty minutes to deliver packages to less than a dozen houses.
Must have been some huge Easter eggs.

Today seems to be very active in deliveries. As high as Christmas deliveries. Could be special deliveries to cabal members in the Association. We have a backwater community. Life in a small town, red community is like living in a place with parallel worlds.

(15,805 posts)speedy service of Sunday deliveries, as well as every other day, too. The so called Blue Laws are a relic from a bygone era, so deliveries aren't any different that all the stores that are also open on Sunday.
It's mostly about priorities, and if I want to stay home in my PJs instead of wasting half the day driving around town to buy stuff, I have that option. Internet shopping is growing because it saves time and money and offers consumers things that brick and mortar stores, like shopping at 2 AM for little girl's purple rain boots. That variety and selection appeals to folks like me who look at shopping as a tiresome chore.

(46,758 posts)It was very convenient when I was an Amazon Prime member. That two day delivery spoiled me. But, we have had to cut back on expenses, much like everyone else, so it's no big deal to me now, living without it.
I'm just pointing out the obvious contradiction of objectives.

(11,862 posts)Or are some workers willing to work for double pay? Go to church early, then come to work? No one goes to hell for working on Easter, just eating fish on Friday....OH! wait...they changed that.
Used to work for an oil company, they were a 24/7 company, and holidays were rare. Only Christmas and New Years was even recognized, and folks exchanged each holiday, part time, based on family...we were never short handed.
