I remember this coming up in 2004 when Sinclair was about to air a thirty-minute hit job on John Kerry.

(13,871 posts)Yes you can do it, but it will not have any impact. They do have to respond to all filings when their license is up for renewal, but there is no way they are going to be denied their license.
And if you think about it, there would be some pretty ominous First Amendment issues if a group of disenchanted viewers could get a station's ownership changed.
I believe it's a pretty ominous First Amendment issue when a private group, like Sinclair, can buy up as many stations as they can afford, and then have all read the same script...in support of the current administration!

(94,622 posts)Setting aside the CONTENT of their message, how is transmitting the same message in 25 local markets different than a national paper (like USA TODAY) transmitting a single message to every City in the country?
