(5,101 posts)You'll notice how much cheaper than other projects, is this one.
This said, there's in fact, no need to any wall...
Donnie on itself, is more than sufficient to prevent anyone to come to the USA. Me, being the first.
I'm waiting the post Trump era to make my dream become real : a very long journey in your beautiful country.

(23,337 posts)for not wanting to come while we have a vile monster in the WH. I just got back from 3 weeks in Australia and New Zealand and I got an earful from many people I talked with during my trip. They are completely baffled as to how and why Dotard was not only elected but remains in office. Many of them wouldn't dream of coming here until he is GONE. Most folks were equally disturbed by our gun policies or lack thereof and wonder WTAF is happening here....but that's another topic entirely.
I look forward to the post tRump era too! In the interim, keep up the good work!!

(5,101 posts)I understand your feelings.
Keep faith, it looks like the end of this mess is not too far. Mueller is impressive ! He's playing a 3D game chess.
Trumpig has less than zero chance (if possible !) of getting out of this one way or another.

(24,032 posts)...are right. It certainly helps to know that our friends across the sea realize that not ALL of us have lost our minds.

(52,309 posts)make it so no one *wants* to come here.
"problem" solved.
Such walls are only a waste of time and money...
History has proven it a dozen times ! Any wall had never prevented or protected any country, from a war or an invasion attempt.
In the Mexico wall case, it's a double waste : you will never, ever find better than Trump, to keep anyone from crossing the borders !

(52,309 posts)first and foremost, the undocumented immigration is not a national emergency!
yes, we have laws about immigration and we want to do it in an orderly fashion, but someone overstaying their visa (which is the vast majority of the "problem" ) is not an existential threat to our nation.
a wall will do nothing about people getting in legitimately and staying beyond the expiration date of their visa. more generally, the border *has* to be porous in order to allow the legitimate flow or people and goods. and as soon as you allow that, you allow a way for undocumented immigrants to cross.
so having a ridiculously expensive wall that no one could possibly tunnel under or climb over to drill through or fly over or go around will still be foiled because we have to let people in through the front door.
like so many republican policies, it's entirely built on fantasy to pretend to address wildly exaggerated fake problems.
