The point of no returns: what is Romney hiding?

The point of no returns: what is Romney hiding?

by blue aardvark

Since he won't release his tax returns, and does admit they'd be politically damaging, all we can do is guess.

This is one in a series of speculative diaries wondering what could possibly be worth the price he is paying by remaining secretive.

Today's idea: nothing in particular. He's just that secretive. The Olympic records were purged; Bain Capital is notoriously closed mouthed; his minions bought their hard drives from the state of Massachusetts so there would be no record left behind.

Why Willard M. Romney feels compelled to be so secretive is a matter for amateur psychoanalysis. Perhaps he always tries to see how much he can get away with and takes things right up to the legal limit. Perhaps he has deep seated feelings of inadequacy. Perhaps he assumes he has enemies who are out to get him and he must hide from these enemies. Maybe a combination of the above.

But the pattern is there. Romney is a super-secretive person, and that is probably not a trait we want in a President (think: Richard Nixon).

Here's why Romney will NEVER release his tax forms, and why we need to keep hounding him

Keep after him! This brought a song to mind, so I'll kick with Mitt's life in the Cayman Islands: freshwest Jul 2012 #1
I think it's because of the deduction taken for hookers and blow. jeff47 Jul 2012 #2

Point Of Know Return

(Steve Walsh/Phil Ehart/Robby Steinhardt)

I heard the men saying something
The captains tell they pay you well
And they say they need sailing men to
Show the way, and leave today
Was it you that said, "How long, how long?"

They say the sea turns so dark that
You know it's time, you see the sign
They say the point demons guard is
An ocean grave, for all the brave,
Was it you that said, "How long, how long,
How long to the point of know return?"

Your father, he said he needs you
Your mother, she says she loves you
Your brothers, they echo your words:
"How far to the point of know return?"
"Well, how long?"

Today I found a message floating
In the sea from you to me
It said that when you could see it
You cried with fear, the Point was near
Was it you that said, "How long, how long
To the Point of Know Return?"

All Romney has to do to prove me wrong is release his returns.
