Mike Allen: President Trump may try to hit undo on a slice of the $1.3 trillion spending bill that he signed last month after threatening a veto, and now regrets.
Republican aides in the House and Senate tell me theyre working with the White House on a possible plan to rescind billions of dollars and perhaps tens of billions.
The proposal may not be ready for a couple of weeks Conversations have included a target up to $60 billion, but Republicans on the Hill say it would need to be less than that.
Stan Collender: The new U.S. normal of $1 trillion or more annual federal budget deficits will officially begin this week when the Congressional Budget Office releases its economic and budget outlook report showing that the deficit will be at least that high every year Donald Trump is president.

(14,532 posts)the outcome will not be a blue wave it will be a cat 5 hurricane. Elected D's will have no faith in republicans negotiating bi-partisan bills ever again and push them aside. Yeah I wish. In reality D's will extend an olive branch and the R's will set it afire, blaming the D's for letting it burn.

(32,688 posts)Those big tax cuts were suppose to rain new tax money down on us like manna from heaven from all the growth and blah, blah.
To cut spending now is to admit that is pure horse shit. Every Dem in Congress needs to bring this up and repeat, repeat and repeat, what happen to all that growth and new tax money and the end to gov borrowing? Then bring it up again and again. You mean you were wrong, or you lied to us? Which is it?
Here I was thinking we could raise SS and MC benefits, well at least make those tiny tax cuts for us regular people permanent. Might even be more cuts for us. But, noooo, now it's all off.
Make a great TV commercial to run 24/7. How about some bill boards asking those questions.
Oh yah, those tax cuts for giant businesses will pay for themselves.
Blue Wave..
