A tiny bit was coming down when he left, but we never thought it could get this bad. Fortunately the gym is close to our house.

We've had snowstorms as late as May 3rd. The day after, temps may be in the 60s or even 70s.

But I REALLY want it to be mushroom season! I want to go hunt morels!

I know late snow can come to the mountain states, was not sure if that was "normally" true of where you are.

I've been in the Midwest for 27 years. Can't remember such a cold, and snowy, Spring before.

Still very sharp. She says she cannot ever remember when the temps zig-zagged like this.
Every week we get couple days of above normal highs, then a sharp drop to below normal cold, off and on, for the last 7 months.
Highs and lows are running 10 degrees from normal.

Even had 2 snowfalls, when one is a rarity in this area.

I keep remembering that movie, "The Day After Tomorrow." Kansas was the line of demarcation between who would freeze to death, or, further south, probably survive.

even when the weather should be warmer.

Your movie reminder ..reminded me...so I am watching the film now. Somehow a disaster film is in keeping with my mood of the disaster in DC.

Five years ago, it snowed on May 2nd, but that was a one-off.

This year, it still hasn't warmed up yet, and it's April Freaking 8th.

The high yesterday was 38, and the low last Thursday morning was 19.

Most deciduous trees are bare, and the dogwood/Bradford pear blossoms are turning brown and falling off.

I was a freshman at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. We went through 116 kegs of beer on campus in one day.

Classes were called off, but somehow we could get the three blocks to the local grocery store or bars to buy kegs and get them back to the dorm. The administration banned kegs in the dorm the next day.

They were freak weather events and the snow was usually gone very quickly, then spring reappeared. It was nothing like this sustained winter.
