Terry McAuliffe Eyes White House Bid

April 8, 2018 at 11:34 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

Richmond Times-Dispatch: “It’s been four years since he spent much time behind the wheel. McAuliffe got used to someone else doing the driving. With a laugh, he says he could get used to it again. Three months after leaving the Virginia governorship, the perquisites of which included a lumbering black SUV driven by a state trooper, McAuliffe is considering a second act: the presidency… These days, McAuliffe is doing what national prospects are supposed to do: traveling to key states, plumping for his party’s candidates, tweeting, talking — and listening.”

If that's the case, we may have to call Joe Kennedy III up from AAA ahead of schedule...

But he stood firm against Nazis and Neo-Confederates in Charlottesville while other so-called progressives sat silent.

We cannot go through yet another cycle defending the Clintons. It turns off new voters. Need a fresh start.

from an opponent who he says committed treason. If we don't respond it will boomerang on us.

We also have to respond when he claims that he inherited a mess from Barack Obama.

As for McAuliffe, I doubt he will get very far. But there will probably be 20 different people running for president on the Democratic side. Let them.

There are too many other big names out there: Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Eric Holder, Tom Steyer, Kamala Harris, Corey Booker.

Within a few debates the early talking points about McAuliffe would be over.

The election will be about Trump and Trump's America. The GOP will try to target the Clintons regardless of who our nominee is.

And there are a lot of factors that will determine whether we win or lose. It isn't logical to point blank say that we lose under certain conditions this far out.

I think it is unlikely that McAuliffe will run, and even more unlikely that he will be a serious factor in the race.

He has proven he has the chops to run a state at least.
