New York Times: The filing period has not even ended in some states, and there are far more Democratic hopefuls than at any time in the last quarter-century
Notably, there are even more Democrats running for the House this year than there were Republican hopefuls in 2010, when the Tea Party uprising against Mr. Obama helped sweep in 63 new House Republicans.

(146,317 posts)A primary run is a good thing. Winning is better. I'll be supporting whichever Democrat wins the primary in every district. Right now, it's up to the people in those districts to choose their favorite. Numbers don't matter. There will be no more than 435 Democratic House candidates on the ballot in November. The rest will return to their other activities. In my own districts and neighboring ones, I care who the primary candidates are. In most cases, I already know who will be on the ballot in November. The same is likely true for people who live in all those other districts.
