In the last few years I've seen and heard him in many different places, Howard Stern, On Hero's and following on Facebook.

I agree he's cool! Very Cool! Not simple though (I know you don't mean simple as in dumb, I'm just jokingly saying he's a complex and interesting person with a complex, sometimes very funny and fun, life at least these days)

He was trying to sell the idea of an "Adventures of Capt. Sulu" series to the networks. I wish he had succeeded!!!!!

He had an April Fools' post on his Facebook page this year about a 'Captain Sulu' movie. Again, I would line up to see it the first day it opened, along with hundreds of thousands of older Trekkies!!!!

An extremely high-percentage of gay folks are very very cool, interesting, bright (or brilliant),
witty, creative and insightful people.

And graciously patient, too (to put up with all the BS/crap society continuously gives them, ad nauseum,
while remaining incredibly peaceful, rational and gentle throughout).

GAY PEOPLE ARE COOL.
Thank God they exist!!

They are, and will continue to be, pillars of human society,
in all their various roles, as they have always been, down through history.

Let the gay folks in your life know you love and appreciate them.

I read this aloud to my family and my son mentions that Takei (who looks so young to be 75!) lived through at least 5 wars. I say at least because Iraq and Afghanistan should be counted separately (I think it's 7 George!).

And when you read the list out loud and consider this is one man's lifetime we're talking about and that we're not including other invasions in that list, it really hits home at how some in this country seem to get off on keeping us in battle.

And by the way, to Mr. Takei - I'm so sorry that your freedom and a normal childhood was taken from you and that you and your family were treated the way that you were.
