A man THIS corrupt should not have to become President to get prosecuted.

We need a system of justice that treats mobsters, crime families, and big time con-men at least a little worse than poor people unable to pay their traffic tickets. Maybe slightly better than it treats dads making a bit of money selling loosies on the street corner, or kids pulling out a toy gun at the playground.

Seriously, who are all of the people who have protected this guy for decades?

Nice editorial, New York Times. The question I have for our society is: WHY did he get away with so much for so long?

I don’t consider him fit for airtime, let alone White House time.
Has he really met any standards? Why are there no standards?

People at the bottom lose whatever they have for one or two mistakes.
Multiple bankruptcies, involved in 3500 lawsuits..yet isn’t destroyed by them.

Too many on the Left have been complacent for too many years, abdicating our responsibility to participate in our electoral system, flawed and imperfect as it is, and while we slept the Republicans were working from the local level up to take control of the government.
Frankly the two sides are so politically polarized and entrenched, each completely convinced they are right and the other side is not only wrong, but evil with evil intent, that if this were the 19th century we would be ripe for another Civil War. And nobody could say we don't have the guns to do it now.

I find it hard to believe he didn’t earn some jail time before now.
In courtrooms all across the country, people who have no money to pay for a speeding ticket are jailed or lose their ability to drive a car. What’s the penalty for being a chronic fraudster and sociopath? You get your own TV show?

If so, we need to do something about others that might be out there

I assume that he could have continued conning people out of money and cheating on his taxes for the rest of his life.

Paying off court-ordered fines using other people’s money and calling it charity.
Money laundering.
Evading responsibility.

How many people decided to let it go, because he had money or made donations?

court ordered documents as a civilian, and that sort of thing's pretty much SOP for him. So, why wasn't he prosecuted? Conservative voters, of course, protect the privileges of the wealthy classes, but maybe we should be insisting more.

They rail against liberals, the Clintons and the Obamas yet they think god sent this asshole. If anything this proves to me how confused religious advocates can be. Laws need to be enacted to lock up people that prey on others. Trump thinks he is untouchable.
