1. Dana J. Boente had been asked to be interviewed by the Special Counsel
-not a subject or a target but a witness
-requests legal representation

2. document: letter from FBI to Boente 1/17/17

certification, that notes he took (top secret) are NOT top secret

"your handwritten notes are unclassified"

the contents are not top secret or unclassified

3. Maddow has THE NOTES

1st contemporaneous record confirming Comey testimony on calls with Trump.

Take away: Boente's contemporaneous notes corroborate Comey's account.
OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE!!!




Just in from @maddow —> In a Jan. 2 letter, Dana Boente informed DOJ officials that Mueller's office asked to interview him. Boente was Acting AG after Trump fired Yates, then Acting DAG, then acting head of the National Security Division.




Boente's contemporaneous notes reiterate Comey's testimony, which presumably is in his notes (& likely McCabe's notes as well). Of course it's not proof, but, given that Boente has been the one favored by Sessions and Trump, it seems notable that his account backs Comey's claim.

—Cloud as a result of the Russia bus. —This makes running the country difficult.

This is a cool deal! Comey's handwritten notes memorializing trump's request that comey say publicly that trump is not under investigation. Dana Boente has notes of discussion with Comey about it all, memorializing it.

I saw it and Maddow seems to have incontrovertible proof that Comey's testimony at this hearing was truthful.
Boente's contemporaneous notes on Comey's calla to him that same day are almost verbatim.

This is surely obstruction of justice, and the DOJ will want to show a pattern established of such behavior.
Boente was fired by Trump, but he now works for the FBI.

What do they call that in legalese? Contemporaneous evidence (or some such thing)? The credibility of which, I think, is established because of WHEN the notes were made, in this case, right away after Comey told Boente what he'd just been through during an Oval Office visit.

This gets a week lead on Comey's book, and that hyped interview on ABC this weekend. Shuts 'em up before they can even start the trash talking.

I am **so** glad these guys are on our side. They scare the bejeezus out of me.

as i was reading the post i couldn't help but have great anticipation to see Comey's interview this Sunday w/ Stefanopolous. I have mixed feelings about Comey, but the irony is sweet that it's Repugs who are turning against the madman.

Somebody told them to do it, I don't think they would have done it on their own, they were told to classify the documents this way.

By whom and for what reason?.
