So, wasn't Trump addressing our top military leaders when he had his meltdown on Monday?

My understanding from news reports is that Trump was giving a speech to our top military commanders on Monday afternoon when he had his meltdown over the news of the FBI raid on his attorney, and declared that the investigations he faces are "an attack on our country".

Let that sink in for a moment. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces was telling the top military leaders, in no uncertain terms, that the investigations constitute an attack on the country they're sworn to defend. The implication is clear: he's telling the military to be prepared to intervene, if necessary, to defend him against the investigations.

I absolutely do not believe that any of the top brass would entertain that notion. Not even for an instant. But it's appalling to think that this pResident believes the military's duty is to serve him, personally, and not the nation. It's much akin to his belief that the Attorney General is, or should be, his personal consigliere.

No. He was having a meeting with top natsec and military officials, not making a speech to a group. hedda_foil Apr 2018 #1

These are the people who will have to refuse to hand over the football if Comrade Dumbass demands to nuke somebody. They're the ones who may have to walk in to the Oval Office and lead the National Man Baby out in handcuffs or a straitjacket. The more they see him like this, the less likely they will carry out an unreasonable and catastrophic, irreparable idea of his. At least that's what I'm telling myself...

Edited to change pleased to not unhappy. None of this business actually pleases me at all.
