"After Ryan passed tax reform, his longtime dream, he was ready to step out of a job that has..."

Siren: Paul Ryan confidants say he's not running again

This decision has been long rumored but his final deliberations were held extremely closely.

Ryan, 48, was the Republican vice presidential nominee in 2012, and has long harbored presidential ambitions. Friends say he could make another run in the future.

Friends say that after Ryan passed tax reform, his longtime dream, he was ready to step out of a job that has become endlessly frustrating, in part because of President Trump.

Friends say Ryan was contemplating a minority or slim majority and decided that there was no good time to leave — it was time for at least a stint in private life.

I'm sure there's a sweetheart high paying job waiting out there in corporate world as a 'thank you' to the congressional piece of shit.

At the thought of the GOP accomplishing his goals of screwing us out of SS and Medicare, and destroying health care for the rest of us.

He wants to be clear of any impeachment activities in the House because I believe that he will attempt to pick up some of Trump's base when Trump is gone.

I don't think Trump will last til 2020. If Trump is still around - he will be primaried. It will be interesting to see who of the Repugs will wind up in the 2020 clown car. For sure, however, Ryan will be in it.

The primary legislation of interest to his benefactors was the tax give away to billionaires and their corporations. After that was accomplished, his job was done because by removing trillions in revenue from the treasury -

1.) This guarantees the death of things funded by that lost revenue like Medicaid, food assistance, education assistance, housing assistance, disaster assistance, infrastructure
2.) Puts pressure on eliminating Social Security and its offshoots like Medicare
3.) Becomes a death knell for the ACA

A salesman who KNOWS he's peddling a crap product doesn't stick around after he's made the sale. He's spent a career preaching his Ayn Rand bullshit, probably never expecting that anyone would be dumb enough to buy it. Now that it's been put in motion, he needs to get out before his voters see what a disaster it will be.

Also, I think he realizes that he's in it up to his eyeballs in the Russian meddling and that it's only a matter of time before Mueller turns his attention to him and McConnell.
