What I told my wife who is participating in a teacher's rally today

This afternoon my wife, who is a public school teacher, is participating in a teacher's rally for better funding for schools, and decent pay. We've been married for four years, and she's been teaching at the same school for nine years, over the years I've met many of her co-teachers, and sadly, more than a few of them are Republicans.

The good news is that conditions have gotten so bad at her district that even these Republican teachers are planning to attend the rally. I told my wife that if they actually show up, that she should tell any Republican teacher that marching for a decent wage is good, but if they keep pulling the level for Arizona's Republican governor and Republican legislators, then they've just shot themselves in the foot.

How's about carrying their own load? Union teachers that bitch about unions are the first to use the benefits. There's no question the rates paid to educate our youth are low, but, unless they get with the program, they'll be teaching at employment at will situations and then it's too late. Getting a union is far far harder than keeping a union. Overall, union dues are pretty low. ONE area of their life supports the betterment of most of them, compare that to how spending the rest of the wage they make at corporations benefits the right wing. As teachers it's time for repubs to fish or cut bait. If union dues bug you, go teach at a charter school. Enough is enough. Educational grifters need to face reality. You can't always get what you want, and , the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Good job to your dear wife. Roll tide. Blue wave is coming. Don't get lax. March on!!!
