Does the "leader" take responsibility for the party screwing up?
Do you think their leader knows what is going on?
Does their leader have serious problems of his own?
.................Yes...I will admit that I am being sarcastic....
...The Republicans know they are going to loose a lot of seats..The leader of the Republican Party defines the word "selfish." He is totally self centered, and most of the voters hate that... He promised so much, and has delivered on so little. Now, with a possible "trade war" coming and farmers being "ignored", many seasoned veterans in the Republican Party are calling it "quits." Why waste time and money on ship that is already torpedoed and sinking and taking on lots and lots of water........ Who caused this??? Answer...see sentences 2 and three of this paragraph....and.....Thank You for reading this......

(31,112 posts)The thing I cant get over is October 2016, Nazis were openly supporting rump campaign, rump was not denouncing them, Rachel talked about it in astonishment.
She was stunned this was happening, but in her tone and it reflected the mood of the country was "this is bad, but he isnt going to win so it will go away."
Nope.
And he didnt win, I will NEVER believe he got more votes in those 4 states, but it was close enough to steal.

(2,795 posts)I think Ryan truly hates Trump. I think kissing his ass creates a great amount of self loathing. He got his tax cuts. If this budget goes through, he'll get a little of his entitlement cuts. So why stick around for more humiliation and degradation when he can probably make millions and millions out in the private sector. Maybe keep his ass out of prison with the rest of them by splitting before the ship really goes down.
Yeah, selfish. But what more can you expect from that slob.

Remember, he's the one who told McCarthy to shut up at a meeting (Philadelphia?) because McCarthy said in front of a group that he was almost positive that Dana Rohrabacher and one other (Nunes?) were taking money from Russian operatives to work against the U.S.
Ryan went on and said "We're all a family, and families stick together." Someone recorded that, and if that's not treason/collusion, then I don't know what is.
The other reason he's leaving is that with the F.B.I. watching Wisconsin elections, and with the illegal gerrymander overturned, which it will be, he cannot possibly win his seat again. Not even close if you look at recent returns from Racine and Kenosha. He's toast anyway.

(8,923 posts)and they know its either imminent or likely they will lose, as they have largely exposed themselves now. They all have nice opportunities waiting for them as lobbiests or other parachutes provided by their extremely happy campaign financiers.
My concern is what they might do to Social Security and Medicare on their way out, treating this as their end game.
