One would think that the field of education is a haven for sexual predators.

Although the make the news, relationships between teachers and students are not that common, given the amount of interaction both groups have with eachother. Do some teachers cross the redline, yes, but the number is miniscule.

What are the numbers per capita per profession, and on what objective measure do those numbers come from?

I found data from two years on different parts of the issue, so I will use reasonable extrapolation to connect the two.

In 2014, there were 781 accusations of teacher-student sex.

In 2017, there were 3.2 million full time equivalent public school teachers and 0.4 million private school teachers. The PreK-12 student population was 50.7 million students.

In 2016, it was reported that there was a 36% rise in reported cases of teacher-student sex.

Here is where I do some extrapolation. Suppose that the incidents of teacher-student sex tripled from 2014 through 2017, reasonable given the 2016 number. That would put the number of teacher-student sex accusations at 2343 at the end of 2017 (triple 2014). Let's say that the number of teachers remained the same to start the 2017-2018 school year. That means the rate of teacher-student sex would be (2343/3.6M)x100 = 0.065%.

I think that if you compared that number to any of the following, you would see that teachers are pretty responsible with kids as a group:

Parent/child incest nationwide
Rape cases on college campuses nationwide
Rape cases among the general population nationwide

The ministry’s website -- which was temporarily removed by 9 a.m. Wednesday -- described Bowen as a cohost of Top3 on the Juce TV Network and a regular contributor on Fox News, where he serves as a faith and religion correspondent.

Oh, I meant other than that
