3. If this is for real, it's a gamechanger

At least if they vote in favor.

After listening to people I admire and believe, include Neal Katyal, Trump could very well fire Mueller, or at least kill the rule that allows for the creation of a special counsel.

In order for us to continue to function under the rule of law, Congress needs to do this. It's not a request. It's a demand.

6. Not game changer, but will put McCONnell in spotlight when he refuses to allow floor vote.

It will probably get out of committee, but McCONnell is on record multiple times saying he is against bills protecting Mueller because he thinks Mueller will never be fired.

Same complicit guy who threatened to turn 2016 election upside by lying if Obama revealed Russian interference.

Same complicit guy who blocked Merrick Garland nomination so Gorsuch would take the stolen Court seat.

Same complicit guy who was rewarded when his wife got a plum cushy low-stress Cabinet post.

8. The moderate republicans might surprise us.

Trump and the McConnell wing of the party have lost Bill Kristol, who at one time was pretty far to the right.

The Russians could not have bought off the whole Senate, and things have reached such a point that Trump is turning some of them off.

We keep finding ourselves pleasantly surprised by events. I am hoping that continues.

Also, for what it is worth, Ukraine today said it would cooperate with Mueller and turn over documents relating to Manafort.

Surprises!!!!

Is this like normal legislation and have to get through both Houses, and then on to the president for his signature? Would he then sign it? Why would he and would there be enough support for an over ride?

I don't know how this works, but am guessing there's enough support for it to at least get through the Senate.

5. Ole Chuck is getting his headline, and giving himself some cover.

Even if both the House and the Senate pass this bill, it won't be with a veto proof majority, and Trump will never sign it.

He'll get rid of Mueller, and the Republicans will do nothing about it -- saying: "We passed the bill, he wouldn't sign it. There was nothing else we could do."

11. I think if they have a vote on this it will put lots of votes on record

For and against trump. They will know this and vote accordingly. The republicans in states where trump isnt so popular will likely vote for the bill. If that logic holds, this could be close.
