On Sunday, James Comey's interview with ABC News will air.
It has already been taped and will be a bombshell I am told:
- Interview left people in the room "stunned"
- Many on hand described it as "surreal"
- Trump should be VERY afraid I am told.

(3,194 posts)OH MY GOD!! The most incredible interview ever!
This will bring the Drumpf administration to it's knees. They're gonna be sweatin' bullets.
Yeah, sure, if there's so much incredible stuff in this interview, why don't they show it now?
I will wait and see, but I think they're just trying to get people to watch for ratings.

(5,210 posts)this tweet wasn't via ABC or anything similar, nor was it from someone who's typically prone to that kind of thing.
I've seen the promos for the show and it's nothing like that, no hype at all -- in fact, it's disappointing IMO.
We'll see.

(714 posts)Those things give us no information about what the content will be. What they do is "Prime" us to be shocked and stunned, to be taken in by how surreal it is. This is what is referred to as hyping, and when the product sells itself it doesn't need it.
People in general, not just the media really need to stop trying to up sell everything, it makes it hard to trust them.
Imagine I wanted you to see a sun rise. If I told you "Let's look at that sunrise!" you may take it or leave it, but if instead I said, "Let's look at that sunrise from my "sun chairs", all of my other guest who have set in the "sun chairs" were amazed by the sunrise."
The "sun chairs" can give no direct discernible improvement to the experience of viewing a sunrise and in fact are ordinary chairs. But now when you compare the view from my "special" chairs, to any other sunrise you have seen, it will be the same, and comparably underwhelming.
Because I hyped the experience when it was a completely normal experience, and just maybe when I ask you to sit in my "moon chairs", you brush it off as the same as the "sun chairs", which were boring and ordinary, so you never notice that moon chairs are equipped with high end liquor and doggy bags full of cash.
Because I hyped a ordinary experience you didn't believe the hype about the extraordinary one.
Remember that I never "hyped" my chairs, I only reported on what I heard.

(27,811 posts)How come when it came to the 2016 election, everything had to be tiptoed around and all this information had to sat on because it might help the Democrats (just because it was actually the right thing to do didn't factor into it?)

(12,165 posts)I though it was a let down, but it broke through to a couple of the older Trumpers in my family.
She came across as credible and sympathetic, and not like a stereotypical porn star. This is according to my pro-Trump grandmother. I dont know why or how Stormy had such an impact on her opinion, but I am sure she wasnt the only one.

I'm sure the best part of the Comey interview will end up on the cutting room floor.

We don't have to wait for film at 11 any more.

(5,210 posts)It's news that Comey -- someone who should know about such things -- compared him to a mob boss. And there are several other parts to that that I don't remember because I was so fixated on the unflattering shots they chose of Comey, but I'm pretty sure they were newsy.

(4,395 posts)All the juicy stuff was in closed session anyway and, other than confirming public reporting that has come out since then, I can't imagine that there's some massive bombshell that has suddenly been declassified for the purposes of this interview or Comey's book.
Maybe stunning for people who haven't been paying attention, but I'm not holding my breath for anything new and earth-shattering.
