Isn't it so disgusting that this scene depicts the Office of the
president of the United States of America?
He has caused so much unnecessary damage to the lives of people, our country, and the world at large. I still have a hard time believing this is REAL!

(4,017 posts)The Storm of #StormyGate is indeed gathering and building momentum. That Donny Two Scoops might be taken down over a scandal involving him having sex with a porn star is so rich with irony.
LiberalLovinLug
(14,175 posts)But it will have to be more than paying off a porn star for a one time fling years ago to bring him down. If admission, dare I say bragging, of violent sexual assault didn't stop his Presidency this won't either. His evangelicals, the self-appointed moral compass of America, have already given him a free pass in that arena.
Its going to take a clear cut crime involving money laundering, and/or collusion to rig an election.

Thats the beauty of that artwork. One way or the other theres a storm that could very well take him down.

(86,005 posts)...than just shaming Trump.
Still, we won't take down a president without tearing at the fabric of his reputation. His core base of voters can't re-elect Trump. They're polling below 40%. What scandal does is keep leaners and undecideds from supporting him, and it energizes turnout for our opposition.
Anyone who doesn't think there will be a wide range of charges against Trump hasn't been paying close enough attention. The tipping point will come when Democrats take charge of the House. Lots of pols and others anxious to affirm the rule of law which Trump has so cavalierly ignored.
LiberalLovinLug
(14,175 posts)If its simply what can be dismissed as some one time sexual infedelity, and look, even Melania forgives him (doesn't want to screw up her cash cow), and the largest demographic that has never wavered support, his evangelicals forgive him, who puff themselves up as the moral voice of the country, then it would have to be other crimes that bring him down.
What if a few campaign workers around Trump are charged, but all they have is circumstantial against Trump for financial and election crimes? And anyone that could testify to put him away falls on their sword? And Republicans in Congress do not cooperate either.
All I'm saying is that if this story is all they have, and admit they don't have enough evidence to charge him with anything other than lying about hush money, and he could then brag on Twitter how he is totally vindicated, he would get a bump in those polls, especially with Fox News and RW radio promoting him 24/7. And with Republican election fraud in full swing, and their faithful Republican governors stalling on cyber security for the next election, all he needs is anything close to 50%.
Maybe I'm an involuntary concern troll. You are right, in that Democrats will come out more regardless. I'm still paranoid though. Not until I see his sorry ass being led away will I really breathe again.

(19,204 posts)is about the most ignorant choice anyone could ever make, and of course that's the choice Trump made. I'm positive Trump never checked to see if Cohen was actually an Attorney in good standing before he hired him. He looked like the stereotypical mob Lawyer, and oozed a "tough guy" persona. That, and his promised fealty to Trump, was enough for Trump to entrust his most dark and dirty secrets with Cohen.
No one needs any more proof that Trump is a complete moron other than his choice for his consigliere. He earned his JD at the worst "law school" in the United States, barely one step above some Caribbean Island medical diploma mill. Trump, the "shrewd business man", the "greatest negotiator" on the planet, couldn't even choose a competent Attorney to represent him.
Fact is stranger than fiction, and when the movie depicting this entire sordid affair has a casting call I'd love to be in the room to see who they choose for the prime roles.
