(5,103 posts)And they wonder why banning comes up over tighter regulation.
They ask our minorities to control their racial communities but they demand we don't even question them.

(4,940 posts)I've hunted (bow, rifle, shotgun). I've done target shooting (legit range, police monitored). I am NOT anti-gun. If I were, the last time I needed a shotgun, I wouldn't have had it - and the bear would have liked me better, even if I didn't hit it!
I AM all for the regulations/restrictions and laws proposed by the heroic David and Emma. And If I ever thought I knew someone who would do this? I'd be on the phone to my favorite State Trooper and our local Chief - reporting a possible death threat.

(118,749 posts)all too as high gun ownership makes for more police shootings. Nobody wins the cycle of violence except the GOP-NRA.

(4,940 posts)The city guys are good and the troopers are magnificent. The locals do a lot of "community" policing, walking the downtown streets etc. and a LOT of volunteering, as do the firefighters. They (cops and troopers) are doing outreach to local schools regarding in-school and in-crowd shootings.
On the whole I'd say every 2nd person here has a gun of some type. Most are totally benign. Those that aren't are usually caught before any harm comes to others or themselves.
Nice having a small population!

more guns - police more afraid - more shootings of police and unarmed public - more hatred between the two - more guns - more school shootings cycle exists all over the US. Less a problem in places that have more gun control.

(4,940 posts)The NRA should have been labeled a terrorist organization in 1990......... at least, if not farther back. And the militarization of cops by the RWNJ idiots - I mean, okay, ours use some hefty 4x4s, snow machines, airplanes and choppers but they aren't militarized! Its just not in their mindset.

(100,097 posts)Expect an onslaught of dirty advertising coming from the NRA and their Russian money and they will agressively target toss up states and districts like they did in 2016. We need to be ready to kick their asses.
