This is politics, after all. And I wish our President had been more political and less apolitical. The times required a political executive branch. We were not the United States of America at that point. Outside influences had fractured the American public. We needed someone who could thread the needle when necessary, but lower the damn hammer LBJ-style if the circumstances required it.
