Im not surprised at number one. One of the most beloved politicians on the planet.
https://morningconsult.com/2018/04/12/americas-most-and-least-popular-senators/
2018s first quarter was a volatile one for several senators, with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle seeing significant changes in levels of support from their constituents, according to the latest Morning Consult Senator Approval Rankings.
In the quarterly rankings based on surveys conducted online with more than 275,000 registered voters nationwide from Jan. 1 through March 31 a dozen senators saw their net approval ratings fluctuate by at least 9 percentage points from the previous three-month period. By comparison, two senators saw swings of that magnitude during the fourth quarter of 2017. See our methodology here.
Four senators posted net increases of 10 points or greater last quarter. Vulnerable Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) led the way with a 16 point increase, vaulting him from the bottom 10 to the top 10. Fifty-six percent of Montanans approve of Tester, compared with one-third who dont.

(10,168 posts)but she's holding her own and doing well. As far as I know she's well liked so this is a surprise to me too.
And, BTW, Wisconsin is not a red State. It was purple and is now blue when we're allowed to vote, AND the votes are not counted in the basement of a Republican operative with a private computer of on faulty tabulators like 2016.

(29,674 posts)Monetti and Sykes have no chance. Quite a few have said they'll vote for Petersen and if he doesn't win the primary they'll go Libertarian.
Maybe if the party would actually help in Missouri...

(58,724 posts)I sure do hope she can pull it off. Love to hear any further insights (I lived in MO for a year but that was a long time ago).

(29,674 posts)There is a lot at play. If Petersen wins the primary (at this time, nope, but has momentum amongst the Young Republicans and Rand Paul wannabes) we could be sunk in November. I think he could keep building. Monetti is a joke and Sykes is a national joke.
Hawley is presumptive but he could be in trouble soon. The state GOP has pressured Greitens to resigns and he refuses. Hawley is caught up in Greitens by his refusal to investigate for over a year his use of messaging programs that delete messages once read. He's also getting grief over initially refusing to investigate the blackmail/coercion/possible rape claims against Greitens. Finally, Greitens has donated over $50,000 to Hawley's senate campaign on the up and up, with rumors of an additional $300,000 donated. Hawley has also accepted donations from others and then immediately opened investigations against their competitors. He also refused to move to Jeff City when he was elected Attorney General, which is a job requirement.
Hawley isn't as safe as he thinks. Talk of impeachment is high right now and will not start until after the regular session ends May 18. Talk is if proceedings begin it would be mid summer-July through August. That stink could linger well into the primary in August, which will be my daughter's first time voting. (Yay!)

Durbin gets is because EVERY trumpite , "I voted for him, but only because I'm republican" could not approve of a D from Illinois
The results of this are worth Confederate scrip.

(52,162 posts)Klobushar and Tester. Tester in particular to be as popular as he is in a state that is so GOP. On the bottom 10 side Baldwin has seen a ton of negative ads against her and that is why she is where she is. I am concerned about Durbin. He is in a Democratic state he should be above water not below it.

Morning Consult conducted surveys with 275,358 registered U.S. voters from Jan. 1 through March 31, 2018 to determine the Q1 2018 Senator Approval Rankings.
In each poll, Americans indicated whether they approve or disapprove of the job performance of their U.S. senators. For each question, they could answer strongly approve, somewhat approve, somewhat disapprove, strongly disapprove, or dont know / no opinion.
Morning Consult obtained an up-to-date list of senators from Sunlight Foundations Congress API v3 and Open States API. Survey respondents were assigned to their appropriate senators based on their state of residence.
Morning Consult obtained population parameters for registered voters from the November 2012 Current Population Survey. We applied post-stratification weights based on gender, age, educational attainment and race.

(7,596 posts)When you compare Illinois, sixth in population, to a little podunk state like Wyoming, Durbin objectively has more people approving of him than Enzi.
Ninsianna
(1,349 posts)and has a population smaller than that if Detroit and is composed of 95% white people the whole planet now?
This is a delusion that a small group.of white people have suffered from for generations, and it's still sad.
Most humans on earth don't know or care about some old white dude from a tiny state they haven't heard of .
Note how the Dakotas also have high ratings, tiny populations of white people are always overcounted and their opinions are valued over the majority of humanity who are not white and whose voices mean nothing. These people also have no clue who the actual.politicians are that the planet knows and admires, the Sen from the Dakotas and VT don't even rate a mention.
