I was in DC for the first time. I was a grad student and research assistant.
Exciting time
I brought back the first Impeach Nixon stickers to South Carolina.Had theee torn off of my car, still have one.
As you point out, it took from October to August to finish him off, but this week feels a lot like the days just before the Massacre.

I followed the hearings on TV in college; went to see Carter debate Ford in '76; then came to DC for grad. school. In several years in DC I'd walked by Judge John Sirica at a shopping ctr. near AU and sat next to TN Sen. Howard Baker at the dentists..Brr!

This mess will be quite something and it'll take some time.

It's just a slow train wreck. Mueller has something. This time, Trump really looks frightened. I'm not sure if it's Mueller or Putin that he's afraid of.

on the other hand they have foxnews and republican majorities in both houses.

i agree that patience may be needed, and in any event we shouldn't celebrate too much if and when donnie is out of office prematurely, as president pence will only be a new, fresh hell.

that said it is also possible for things to turn on a dime these days in a way that wasn't really possible back then.

But, I'm not ignorant of the timeframe and how things played out.

I'm glad people are mentioning this now, though. It's important we all know things didn't suddenly explode back then.

And it was a major blow that signals the beginning of the end. Because now Mueller's got everything he needs, and Trump knows it. I still think it will be a while before anything substantial happens, because the Mueller team has to comb through everything the got in the raid AND Mueller still has to connect all the dots with the Seychelles meeting and all the Manafort stuff and everything else. But I do think that Mueller now has everything he needs to construct a case that will rid us of Trump for good. He just needs to take the time to construct it all.
