Some other young people making a difference

http://registerguard.com/rg/news/local/36644575-75/trial-date-set-in-climate-case-pitting-youths-against-u.s.-government.csp

Except:

A group of youths is scheduled to go to trial against the federal government this fall in Eugene, a magistrate judge announced Thursday.

Over the objections of government attorneys, U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas Coffin said a trial in the potential landmark climate case will begin Oct. 29.

“Climate science will finally have its day in court and the plaintiffs will be ready,” one of the youths’ attorneys, Phil Gregory, said after Thursday’s hearing.

The federal case pits the government against 21 youths ages 10 to 22, along with well-known climate scientist James Hanson. Six of the plaintiffs are from Eugene.

The plaintiffs filed their lawsuit in 2015. They allege their constitutional rights are being violated by a government that has known for decades that carbon pollution causes catastrophic climate change, but nonetheless promotes fossil fuel production while failing to protect the nation’s natural resources.

... but on what grounds are the plaintiffs suing? Violation of what "constitutional right?" The article might mention that. Obviously at least one judge thinks they have standing.
