Superstition actually holds that Friday 13 is a "completion" day for major projects or confluences - for better or worse.

And most people are wishing for something not to happen or discovered, rather than for something to happen or be discovered.

not

Over the past 58 years, I've always had some sort of a good day (including three promotions!) on Friday 13 - at the very least, a quiet day.
