1-2 minutes

Kakistocracy was among our top lookups on April 13th, 2018, rising 13,700% after its appearance in a tweet by former CIA Director John O. Brennan.

The Greek root 'kakistos' means “worst.”

The word is pronounced kak-uh-STAH-kruh-see, and means “government by the worst people.” The plural form is kakistocracies. Our earliest evidence for its use comes from 1644, when it was used by Paul Gosnold to warn about transforming “our well-temperd Monarchy into a mad kinde of Kakistocracy.” Following this the word had a period of relative inactivity, and reappeared in the early 19th century.

Let's face it, it's not *our* government.

You call up the government, you'll get some auto canned reply. Ethan Couch or some coked up rich boy does it though, he'll have direct access to a legislator in a couple of minutes.

Look at who still celebrates the 2016 'election'... People who think "economic anxiety" means "I don't want to work alongside black people or Mexicans", people who think 'good national security' means "Well at least the shooter was white so... win", people who think America was last great before the civil war "even though there might have been just a teeny amount of slavery", people who 'joke' about the Holocaust, and the people who think Pizzagate was real. Real pieces of work.
