Well, there goes that little "Trump Tax" gift

Gasoline prices have steadily crept up to a nearly three-year high nationwide, fueled by increasingly expensive oil.

Fuel prices averaged $2.68 on Thursday, up 15 cents from a month ago and up 28 cents from a year ago, according to AAA.

The average American household is expected to pay about $200 more on gas in 2018 than in 2017, the U.S. Energy Information Administration projected Thursday.

It's "going to impact motorists' pocketbooks and wallets for spring and summer, with the hope of them coming down in fall and winter, as we’ve seen in years past," AAA spokesperson Jeanette Casselano said.

The price of fuel is the highest it has been in nearly 1,000 days, according to smartphone app GasBuddy, which allows consumers to see gas prices at nearby stations.

Gas in my little spot east of Pensacola, Fl. - $2.65. Kinda funny, ain't it, that little tax gift will end up in the hands of the Petro-energy people. Makes one think they did it on purpose. But, I'm kinda of a skeptical, cynical person.

Isn't it odd that people thought the price of oil would drop if we increased production in the US? tonyt53 Apr 2018 #3

Here in WA, I think we just bumped our state gas tax, so it's hard to tell here how much the base cost went up.

Now what doesn't get dropped off at a few midwestern refineries, goes to the Gulf and is loaded onto tankers, moved to international waters and then sold on the open market. Those ignorant-ass "drill baby drill" idiots will likely start blaming Obama again. Fact is, oil production under Obama soared here in the US.
