I think the ones who support Trump have an unevolved since of morality. Their morality is not built on fairness, empathy or the golden rule. They don't have the same internal morality progressives and others have. Their morality is completely hierarchical and tribalistic and usually patriachical. What the head bosses say is the right, moral thing. Not what's fair or even-handed. Not even if it's contradictory. People outside their tribe do not deserve the same rights as they do. So hypocrisy is irrelevant. What is moral is what's good for their group, especially their authoritarian leader.

But they don't get that humanity as a whole should be their tribe. And our leader should be our employee, as all in government are.
