Lucky African-American teenager lives to tell the tale -missed school bus

stopped and asked for directions and you know what follows

<snip>
A black teen in Michigan stopped to ask for directions after missing his school bus — and a local resident responded by shooting at him with a shotgun, he said.

Brennan Walker told Click on Detroit that he overslept on Thursday, and that his phone had been taken away by his mother. He said he was merely trying to get to Rochester High School in Rochester Hills.

"I knocked on the door, stepped back, knocked, stepped back and then a lady came downstairs yelling at me," Brennan told the station. "She asked me, 'Why are you trying to break into my house?' and I told her, no, I was just looking for directions to Rochester High."

Brennan said a man came downstairs with a shotgun and he started running: "I turned back and saw him aiming at me," he told Click on Detroit.

A good friend got married and moved to Florida where her hubby was a Professor at a university.
She took her then thirteen year old son. He lost his way one day and decided to try and head back home.
He saw this elderly lady on her porch as he was passing and said good morning. She responded Fuck off n word. That was his first lesson. They all returned home after five years. Her hubby had lived in the US for close to 40 years. She couldn't adjust. Her son laughs it off now - he's in his final year of his undergraduate degree. He told me he wants to do his Masters in the US.

He's a kid! FFS, I really hate this country sometimes. I blame Trump for stirring up this paranoia and hatred.
