several of the WFP affiliated unions are going to break off and support Cuomo, who is a good governor despite his flaws.

It's good she's bringing up the marijuana issue and a few others, but she's an inexperienced celebrity who should run for a small local seat (to learn how gov't/politics actually works) and work her way up the ladder.

Trump found out when he got into office that actual governing (as opposed to politicking) doesn't work like show business... it's actually hard work that demands experience, otherwise you spend most of the time learning on the job.

...but she seems to be driving the debate at present (MTA funding, Albany corruption, marijuana legalization), and she may end up getting a lot of protest votes to nudge Cuomo more to the left. I was with a major Democratic funder this week who said he’d vote for Nixon as long as he was certain that she wouldn’t win.

As for her qualifications, I’ll observe that plenty of folks here were happy to support Zephyr Teachout, an academic, four years ago.
