This amendment moves redistributing from the legislature to a bipartisan Comission. The vote is next month, during the PRIMARY, not in November during the General Election. So even if you dont have a competitive Primary to vote on, you still need to show up for the CA vote.

(59,097 posts)If a plan does not get the support of 50% of the minority party, it gets kicked to a committee made up of thw governor, state auditor, secretary of state and two lawmakers from each political party. If Republicans hold even 2/3 of those statewide offices, there will be no incentive to make a deal with Democrats. In other words, Ohio Dems better make sure they nominate people who can win instead of nuts like Dennis Kucinich.
