So Will Today's Court Case Be Significant, Or Another Dud?

Is Cohen going to be taken away in cuffs, like any normal person would? Or is he going to get away with thumbing his nose at the system? Hopefully this judge is prepared to stand her ground.

I'd love to see him led away in cuffs, but I'm pretty sure that won't happen. bearsfootball516 Apr 2018 #1

Witness tampering among them.

What I learned about a decade ago from someone who lived in NYC and claimed to know about Rump was that he used organized crime in his real estate schemes. So no telling what he and Cohen did.

There was a case involving a rapper or something and an Atlanta strip club that Trump frequented. So it came as no surprise to me when I heard about the affairs with a porn star and a playboy bunny.

will be worth it if justice happens.

Justice is the rump and kushner families are penniless at a minimum and in jail as well at a maximum.

I don't expect fireworks today. The judge will have to determine what to do, and may decide to take some time to make the decision.

You want the judge to order something, you don’t defy her. In this case, Cohen wants the judge to say the Feds can’t look at what they already seized. The judge is likely to deny Cohen’s request. Of course, I think the judge would deny it anyway; it’s preposterous.

Isn't that defying the judge outright? Can he just say, I don't want to turn them over, and get away with it?

In this case, The judge wants backup for the claim that Cohen has many other clients. The judge could say a reasonably penalty is just that your request is denied, plus without the client list, you increase the risk that the government will compromise one of your own clients.

Realistically, if Cohen had a lot of clients, he would have been on the phone Friday reasurring them, not taking in the rays with Russian oligarchs. Any reasonable client would be demanding he tell the judge about them so their papers can be protected.

In either case, he's not going to turn over the list.

And from what you're saying, the only real "penalty" if you will, is that his request to pull some of the evidence seized (ostensibly because of these "other" clients' confidentiality) will be denied. The Feds will continue to sort through the evidence, and at some point, Cohen will either be charged with crimes.

From the reports of what's likely included in that seized evidence, it's all that Mueller needs to get to trump. There's no point in "flipping" Cohen, because they already have whatever information they need.

Hopefully the asshole will be sitting in a jail cell tonight if he continues to defy the judge.

I know any other regular citizen would be. Dump will blow up Twitter if his consigliere is cooling out in a jail cell I bet!
