Don Lemon Admits Some Pro-Trump Guests Dont Believe What They Are Peddling On the Air

by Tamar Auber | 3:33 pm, April 16th, 2018

CNN Tonight host Don Lemon recently sat down with National Review’s Jamie Weinstein to talk about news in the age of Trump.

Appearing on the April 11th podcast of The Jamie Weinstein Show, Lemon spoke of a number of things during the far-reaching interview, including how CNN “started the panel shows” that are now a hallmark of cable news and how he does not really trust any conservative writers at this point. “I don’t feel there is the authenticity that there used to be with conservative writers,” Lemon told Weinstein, adding he needs people to understand the challenges of women and African-Americans.

Then, at one point in the interview, Lemon even mused that even his pro-Trump conservative guests don’t believe their own Trump hype despite their Trump activism on the air. When asked by Weinstein if sometimes CNN guests admit they don’t believe what they are saying, Lemon responded, “I won’t give names, but absolutely.”

Weinstein then asked why, if the pro-Trump guests weren’t being truthful, Lemon continued to have them on his show. “Yeah, and they’ll say they are speaking for the Trump supporter who doesn’t have a voice,” Lemon responded, trying to explain the guests’ returns.

Lemon then admitted that while the Trump supporters were not exactly being completely honest, one of the main reasons they were asked to return to the show because it's “hard — and it was harder in the beginning — to find someone in support of Donald Trump to come on the air.”

Goddamit!

If they're coming on to lie, or to speak for the Trump supporter who doesn't have a voice (and why don't you invite that guy to your show), why do you keep booking them, Don?

When was the first, last or anytime in between you had a panel of folks on to talk about their firsthand experiences being poor, using SNAP benefits, going to the local food bank, sweating out a kid's cold and hoping it wouldn't take a bad turn while they went to work? Not just one person in that situation, but a whole panel of them, so they could talk and tell their individual stories without being shouted down by some sanctimonious prick who'd just voted to cut their benefits so wealthy people could pay less in taxes.

Fuck you sideways, Don Lemon.

think they are watching an honest exchange.

No you set up a sane person with someone pretending(or not) to be insane as pass it off as a legitimate counterpoint.

What's going to happen if you don't? Conservatives will complain about bias, as if they don't do that already?

.... and just a thread observation, but I am always amazed at how quickly a portion of Democratic Underground can turn on someone. Prior to this, I always thought Don Lemon was thought of as the real deal around here.

Might it be that Lemon keeps having these people on because they present themselves as easy targets to be torn down publicly, which he has done previously?
