Same as if I drop in for a quick wifi connection.
It's just good business to be friendly to everyone, even those who don't happen to be buying anything.
But if I get harassed by some idiot store manager, or I witness such harassment, I may never come back.
The police in this case only made an ugly situation worse. It's not their job to be bouncers for any fool shop manager who dials 911. It's their job to keep the peace. This they did not do. And the odds are good they were as racist as the shop manager who called them.

(2,380 posts)who has never spent a nickel in Starbucks. It was a decision based on the absurd prices, a rare one, since most of my consumer grudges are held because of management attitudes (Hobby Lobby, Chik-Fil-A, etc. ), but I haven't ever had cause to regret my Starbucks decision.

No one has ever harassed me about this--including those starbucks where you have to request a key.

(4,661 posts)especially an older one like me who doesn't look like I can't afford to buy something after I pee. The cloak of white privilege envelops me whether I like it or not. All I can do is stand up for others when I observe injustice.
