PICKENS COUNTY, S.C.
A 66-year-old woman was kidnapped from her Pickens County home by a masked man, forced to drive to a nearby lake and then pushed into the water, according to officials with the Pickens County Sheriffs Office.
Officials said the woman was getting into her car on Holly Springs Road about 9:30 a.m. Sunday when a man in an orange mask kidnapped her and forced her to drive to various locations.
They said the man forced the woman to stop about 11 a.m. near Lake Keowee, forced her to go with him through a wooded area and then pushed her in the water.
A security officer from the Oconee Nuclear Station saw the woman in the water near the facilitys property and was able to help her, officials said. They said the woman was not injured.
The man involved has not been identified or located. He is described 6 feet tall with medium build and was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt and black pants. His race is unknown at this time, officials said....
