(42,334 posts)Ted Kennedy lasted quite a long time with it, relatively. I had an employee who made it 6 months, but was debilitated for much of that time. A very sad disease.

My mother died of ovarian cancer 30 years ago at 62. Another awful one.

(37,449 posts)Senator John McCain was admitted to the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix on Sunday as he underwent a surgery to treat an intestinal infection related to diverticulitis.
McCain is in stable condition, according to a statement released by his office.

I know the pain I've been a life long sufferer of both the disease and the illness. Diverticulitis needs rest , fluids, antibotics.
