These Unique Dog Houses Were Designed By Architects Around The World To Raise Awareness About Homeless Pets
Architects, designers, and artists from all around the world have joined forces to participate in this project called “BowWow Haus” which aims to raise funds for the well-being of homeless animals. These creative people have designed unique dog houses and shelters as a part of a new exhibition that will be open to the visitors until April 26th in several London venues, where they will later be available to buy at a charity auction or via online bids.

This project is a collaboration with the Blue Cross, a pet charity that has been helping sick, injured, abandoned and homeless animals since 1897, American not-for-profit organization Outdoor Arts Foundation, which supports community-based creative engagement, and photographer Drew Gardner. The money that will be collected during this exhibition will hopefully make the lives of hundreds of animals a little bit easier.

Some of the dog houses were made by such creatives as internationally famous Zaha Hadid Architects, mosaic artist Ivan Djidev and multi-award winning designers Denizen Works. Scroll down to see them for yourself.

Cute, but not very practical for outdoor use, especially in inclimate weather. procon Apr 2018 #2

Most are too big for indoor use as well, So where could you put one of these fantasy dog houses, maybe an enclosed porch or patio?

I'm so thrilled that you managed to muddle through my grievous mistake and make sense of my colossal blunder. Just knowing you are on duty and taking such a personal interest in correcting the scribblings of lesser beings, such as myself, warms the very cockles of my heart. Your dedication to ameliorating all the inexcusable typos, misspellings, grammatical aberrations, and the gaucherie of our errant punctuations is what makes DU such a special place.

"is what makes DU such a special place..."

And without which, we're all too often subject to a sub-literate petulance rationalized as thrilling cockles.

Special, indeed.

Most people manage to parse out the meaning of misspelling words and suss out the intent of even badly mangled sentences without any outside intervention. This vigilant spelling inspector clearly understood the meaning, so adding a public criticism was an unnecessary, self congratulatory cheapshot, and well deserving of an unapologetic retort, just as this one, yeah?

Not of much use, really. Artistic showpieces. Better would be an inexpensive, recyclable shelter design that could be quickly manufactured and distributed by normal people.

It's nice to recognize a need, but far better to come up with a practical solution for that need. A company could produce reasonably priced shelters designed for use where needed and that could be recycled when they were no longer habitable. In fact, such affordable, lightweight plastic doghouses are already available, priced under $100:

The houses they're creating aren't really suitable for living in. I just thought they were neat looking.

dog houses to make extra money. I made many that matched people's home exteriors, and some fanciful ones, too. All were designed to be easily disassembled and moved to new locations as flat pieces. Then, I got busy with other work and shut it down.
