Haley fires back at White House: 'I don't get confused'
By Brett Samuels - 04/17/18 06:37 PM EDT
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley responded Tuesday to a claim from President Trump's top economic adviser that she got confused when she said the U.S. would impose additional sanctions on Russia.
With all due respect, I dont get confused, Haley told Fox Newss Dana Perino in a statement that was read on-air and quickly spread on Twitter.
Top White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow on Tuesday morning said that Haley got ahead of the curve in announcing the sanctions.
There might have been some momentary confusion about that, Kudlow told reporters in West Palm Beach, Fla., ahead of President Trumps meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Haley said Sunday that the U.S. planned to impose sanctions on Moscow as early as Monday. But the White House walked back her announcement the next day, saying no decision had been made.

(7,432 posts)People on the outskirts of the news industry have been outraged for two years. Who's been listening? No one gives a shit if the money's not there. When Trumpy was a candidate, he made billions for the media empires and no one wanted to hear about his connections to Russia and organized crime, which were very well known at the time. News of the heralded Dossier was bouncing around dozens of twitter feeds months before it became fodder for CNN and MSNBC. Michael Cohen and Sean Hannity's cavorting with Russian agents were actually last year's news. No one gave a shit then. Now it's a money maker.

(4,858 posts)...and yes, I know how low the bar has been set--when Nikki Haley can be regarded as one of the "sane" ones. But so it is. And she is finding out--as so many have before--that being sane disqualifies one from serving under this "President".

(46,166 posts)She had to know what Trump was when she accepted the job. Did she really think she would be treated with more respect than he gives anyone else in his circle? Her tenure was bound to find disaster. It's what he deals to everyone except Putin and the oligarchs.

(508 posts)Haley is confused by thinking she ever had any business being in the Trump administration in the first place.
She deserves to wear the Trump stench they all get on themselves.
She let her political ambitions cloud her thinking.

(29,098 posts)If she survives her tenure with this administration or leaves with her ethics and reputation in tact she could well be a significant force in reshaping the Republican party for the better. Although I could never imagine voting for someone who is not a Democrat. Our country would be far far better off with a moderate and sane opposition party.
