Now, Do You See?

Now, do you see what Republicans do to our country? Do you see the deterioration in every aspect of American life?

Do you see the decline in morality? Do you see the hate and intolerance? Do you see the fake politicians that pretend to be for the people?

Do you see the corruption and the criminality? Do you see the leaders that threaten to put people in jail if they do not agree? Do you see the decline in America's stature in the world?

Do you see the lies and division in our society? Do you see the road we are traveling?

Do you see what the Republicans are doing to our country?

“Dirty stinkin lousy Republicans”. Dad’s been gone 20 years now and I can still hear him in my mind saying that. My first politicial education. 55 years later Dad was right on. I briefly thought about voting for Reagan in 1980 and my dad told me no one lives under his roof who votes rethug. He then explained me to what rethugs are in more detailed terms. My first husband was a rethug and my Dad never liked him. Even though I wasn’t politicial then nor did I vote until Clinton in 1992.

I would never trust anyone who votes rethug.

Every good choir needs practice to sharpen its skills.

Democrats and progressive here at DU should be free to “turn it loose” on our shared political enemies. Maybe we’ve all heard it 1000+ times, and the OP has too, but if s/he needs to vent, it should be A-OK to do it among (what is hoped to be) friends, who offer solidarity and support, and don’t take them to task for repetition.

Somehow they must be brought to heel and kept down. The 40-year period from 1955 to 1995, when Democrats held a solid majority in the House, was undeniably the most prosperous and progressive period in U.S. history. Democrats also held the Senate for 26 years during that period, but lost control for a time in the 1980s. I won't live to see it, but this needs to happen again. Thank you for an excellent and thought-provoking post, kentuck.

The patriotism is purely for disguise, no meaning whatsoever since all these rich asses care for is their own personal power and $$$ and they are willing to steal it all from us to give to themselves. I certainly couldn't vote for Tricky Dick! But freaking Humphrey? McCarthy would have been a far better choice, but that's when I started to learn about the lengths (and dirty damned tricks) Republicans would go to in order to subvert democracy. Yep, it's been going on THAT long!

Now, it is different & it really appears that the Republican party is more complicit in the connection with Russia or it is those who support the party. Don't know & we still do not know how deep it goes. Even Franklin Graham speaks highly of Putin as does so many more. Look at the possible connection of the NRA. It is suspicious how hard Nunez of CA is working to stop the investigation.

I hope we can get to the bottom of it all but it is going to be hard unless Dems get enough control to be able to do it.
