Some viewers irked when Jeopardy! is preempted to announce Barbara Bushs death

WOW!!!

Viewers in the Eastern time zone watching “Jeopardy! 2018 College Championship” semifinals Tuesday had to go to Google and Twitter to find out, as the syndicated program was interrupted by CBS, ABC and NBC to report the death of former first lady Barbara Bush.

Some viewers of the quiz show were not amused.

“@CBS really interrupted Jeopardy with breaking news that Barbara Bush died? Y’all couldn't have waited 5 min when it was over?” one woman tweeted.

“Hey I know Barbara Bush was a former First Lady but you COULDN’T WAIT UNTIL THE END OF #Jeopardy NBC?!” Joe D tweeted.

Jeopardy > Bush dynasty...

Jeopardy should only be interrupted for the death of Alex Trebek.

during Double Jeopardy and the network cut back in after Final Jeopardy for closing credits. The shorthaired young woman in the middle won, but we don't know how. I think both Daily Doubles had been played, and she wasn't in the lead, but not too far behind.

and then never went back. Fortunately our cable company has a CBS for Puerto Rico so I was able to see FJ. And it was a great semi-final yesterday.

That's what a chyron is for and to direct viewers to your secondary digital network to get the details.

I remember my MOM being upset when I was really little at her soaps being disrupted by Watergate hearings--and then she got HOOKED on the hearings! LOL

Priorities, I guess.
