High school. I never met so many rednecks being from San Francisco. I am very light skinned and was scared going into the local stores because of the looks I’d get. I met some of the stupidest people I have ever in my life. My uncle was a Chicago Police commissioner who was a weekend farmer. The rednecks left him alone because of who he was. But the black week day caretaker did not go outside after dark. My grandparents had a mobile home on his property, they stayed at to avoid the hot Chicago summers. I remember calling my parents and begging them to send me home because I was so scared. After coming back to SF I decided I was going to college and was not going to be stupid like the people I met there. It was life changing event for me and I got to see outright racism upfront in the 70’s.

Michigan was not only a Northern State, but raised a number of units to FIGHT the Confederacy and treason?

I might still have a little bit of sympathy for southern White boys whose ancestors fought for the Confederacy, despite the fact that their cause was wrong, but I have NO sympathy for Northern p*ck*rheads waving the Confederate battle flag. They should be ashamed. They should know better.

I’d have thought that the dipsticks in question might have had an ancestor or two who fought in Mr. Lincoln’s army. Of course, there’s the possibility that these guys’ forebears crossed the ocean generations after someone else’s ancestors did the fighting and bleeding in Virginia, Tennessee, or Vicksburg.
