That pardon of someone he had no inkling of knowing sent the message he wanted.

Someone must have explained that to him. My guess is Bannon, who is supposedly "outside" the WH

But someone inside must have joined in. Probably someone most like Cheney -- Miller????

a president could have a number of legitimate reasons to pardon someone, and while there are customary policies, there are no real rules or limitations beyond not being able to pardon future crimes.

so it would make for an interesting legal case.


that said, it's hard to imagine an excuse that would apply in pardoning someone in his campaign or inner circle that didn't involve obstruction of justice.
