Kansas City firefighter fired for spitting on 3-year-old black boy and calling him the N-word gets his job back

The Kansas City firefighter who was fired after he spit on a 3-year-old black boy and called him the N-word has gotten his job back, the Kansas City Star reports.
Terrence Jeremy Skeen is facing battery, assault and disorderly conduct charges because of an incident that happened in Overland Park, a suburb of Kansas City. Skeen’s lawyer said his client’s side of the story “will all come out at the trial,” and he’s back at work after being “suspended incorrectly.”

The boy’s grandfather, Raymond L. Harris, is now telling more of the story to the Star as the trial approaches.
The child was with his large family to celebrate his 18-year-old uncle’s birthday. The child was running around when his grandfather caught up to him and was told by another patron that his grandson had been the apparent victim of a racist attack.

We have this asshole spitting on a 3yo child and calling him a racist name, and we have an asshole doctor who refused treatment of a 6mo child because the doctor "prayed on it" and refused to treat the child because his parent's were lesbians!!

You are also right about it "always being there", and that is for so many different minorities and now we are all getting kicked in the head (some literally) more and more, then told to "shut up and stop being so sensitive".

Privileges (White, Male, Heterosexual, Christian, Wealthy) are on display and in action in so many ways it is fucking frightening.

I truly truly *think* that 45 could be removed tomorrow but this shit is going to get much much worse for a decade or so.

Their refusal to stand up and clearly, with NO equivocation, denounce bigotry has given license to many, including some who have always worked to "keep a cap on it" or least keep it private. No longer. They are letting their hate flags fly, literally in some instances.
